Symptoms

  • A swelling present at birth or a few weeks after birth which enlarges
  • An area of red/pink/purple/blue discoloration
  • A swelling which can enlarge and change colour with crying or exercise

Surgery

  • Maybe just observation alone, the most common form goes away by itself
  • Maybe LASER therapy
  • Maybe steroid/propanolol medication under the supervision of a paediatrician
  • Maybe injections by an x-ray specialist
  • Maybe surgery for any areas that don’t fully go away
