Symptoms

  • A flat or raised mark which can be red/brown/flesh coloured
  • A swelling under the skin which doesn’t change in size or colour with activities of living

Surgery

  • Maybe none and observation alone
  • Removal under general anaesthetic for young children or local anaesthetic for older children/adults

After Care

  • Leave the dressings dry and intact until return to clinic
  • No washing the affected area for 48 hours
  • No exercise for 48 hours
  • If the paper tapes get wet dry them with a hair dryer
  • Take simple over the counter pain relief like Paracetamol or Nurofen for 48 hours or more for any discomfort
