Simple Polydactyly (Extra Digit)
Symptoms
- An extra digit at the thumb or little finger side of the hand
Surgery
- Surgical removal under local anaesthetic while breastfeeding/bottle feeding
After Care
- Leave the dressings dry and intact until return to clinic
- No washing the affected area until the dressing is removed
- Give simple over the counter pain relief like Paracetamol or Nurofen for 48 hours or more for any discomfort.
