Pre-Tibital Laceration

Symptoms

  • A large cut or collection of blood under the skin, especially if you are on blood thinners
  • A leg ulcer as a result of a bad bang to the leg

Surgery

  • Removal of the dead skin and blood and skin grafting, ideally as a local anaesthetic case

After Care

  • An overnight stay
  • No exercise until the skin graft is healed
  • Leave your dressings dry and intact until you return to clinic
  • No showering with dressings on but simple sink washing
  • Take simple over the counter pain relief like Paracetamol or Nurofen for 48 hours or more for any discomfort
  • No driving until your skin graft is healed (usually 7 – 14 days)
