Symptoms
- A swelling under the skin on the back of your finger or thumb
- A swelling under the skin at the base of your finger or thumb palm side
- A swelling under the skin on the back of your hand
- A swelling under the skin on your wrist by your pulse
Surgery
- Maybe none is you are not concerned by the appearance. Some will go away by themselves with time
- Maybe removal of the jelly in the swelling with a needle and syringe. This is only a temporary solution as the swelling will refill with jelly over time.
- Maybe surgical excision of the swelling down to the joint under general anaesthetic. There is a one third chance that, despite surgery, this will come back slowly over time
